At Barwon Coast, our people are united by a shared commitment to care for Country and preserve the coast for future generations. Guided by our mission and values, we work together to protect, enhance, and share the unique coastal environment we are privileged to manage.
to care for Country respectfully, preserving the coast for people to connect, understand, and protect whilst enjoying the unique natural environment — shapes everything we do. It is supported by values that define who we are and how we work: CARE
We work towards shared goals.
By acting with integrity, we are genuine and trustworthy.
We are inclusive and recognise the contribution of everyone.
We take pride in a job well done.
Together, our people embody these values every day. Whether managing the land, engaging with our community, or planning for the future.
The purpose of our leadership team is to strengthen strategic alignment, foster cohesive leadership, and drive collaboration across the organisation by connecting leaders, sharing insights, and championing a unified, values-driven approach that shapes our strategic approach and supports operational effectiveness.
Barwon Coast Committee of Management is responsible for the care, protection, and enhancement of 19km of Crown land coastline along Victoria’s beautiful Bellarine Peninsula. Appointed by the Minister for the Environment through a public expression of interest process, the Committee is made up of seven dedicated community members who bring diverse skills and local knowledge to the role.
To ensure continuity, appointments are made on a staggered basis, with the Committee meeting monthly (excluding January) to guide strategic decision-making and oversee the management of this important coastal environment.
This is Wadawurrung Country. We acknowledge the Wadawurrung People as the Traditional Owners of the land, waters, seas and skies of Ocean Grove, Barwon Heads, 13th Beach and Breamlea. We honour and say Nyatne to Elders past, present and future whose ancestors, for thousands of years, have cared for this part of Dja (Country). We are committed as an organisation to meaningfully work together with Traditional Owners to make Wadawurrung Culture and Country strong.
