Hosting an Event on the Barwon Coast

Planning a festival, sporting event, or community activity along the Barwon Coast? You’ll need to apply for a Foreshore Event Permit.

Barwon Coast issues permits for events on the land we manage to protect natural and cultural values, ensure equitable access, and minimise environmental impacts.

Permit Fees & Approvals:

• A permit fee of $162 (incl. GST) applies.
  
• Fees for major events will be discussed upon application.
  
• Not-for-profit and community-based events may be exempt from fees.
  
• Submitting an application does not confirm your booking. A confirmation email and invoice will be provided within 10 days of submission.

What You’ll Need to Include:

• Public Liability Insurance (Required):
  A Certificate of Currency with at least $20 million coverage, noting Barwon Coast and DEECA as interested parties.
  
• Site Plan (Required):
  Showing the event area and any support vehicles/equipment.
  
• Risk Management Plan (Required):
  Contact Barwon Coast for assistance if needed.
  
• Drone Licence & Registration (if applicable)
  
• Traffic Management Plan (if applicable)
  
• VicRoads Road Closure Authority (if applicable)
  
• Any other relevant documentation
