Barwon Heads – Barwon River Boating Channel-South of Barwon Heads
Channel Safety Realignment – Stage 1
Barge Towage and Beacon Piling Operations – Barwon River Mouth

Date: Effective from 18 June 2024

Details:

Mariners are advised that barge towage and beacon piling operations will take place in the Barwon Heads river mouth south of the Barwon Heads pedestrian bridge between Tuesday 18 June 2024 and Wednesday 19 June 2024. Towage vessels ‘Mundu’ (15.3m), ‘Valerie May’ (6.5m) and piling barge ‘Jack Daniel’ (19m x 8m) will be used for these operations.


Approximate positions of the piling barge are as follows (WGS84):
1.Starboard Buoy No.1 38°17.106’S 144°30.008’E
2.Port Buoy No.2 38°17.120’S 144°30.004’E
3.Starboard Buoy No.7 38°17.054’S 144°29.785’E


Mariners are advised to navigate with extreme caution in the vicinity of the Barwon Heads river mouth boating channel during daylight hours on Tuesday 18th June and Wednesday 19th June 2024.
Mariners should also consider completely avoiding this area during these dates.
