Barwon Heads – Barwon River Estuary – Floating Bird Roost Trial

Date: Effective from 14 November 2024

Details:
Mariners are advised that two (2) floating bird roosts measuring 30m x 5m have been deployed in the Barwon River estuary, see ‘full details’ for map. One (1) navigation light has been placed on each floating bird roost.

Approximate positions of the floating bird roosts and navigation lights are (WGS84):

  1. Floating Bird Roost No.1 38° 15′ 54″S 144° 30′ 13″E FL Y 3s 1NM
  2. Floating Bird Roost No.2 38° 16′ 04″S 144° 30′ 31″E FL Y 3s 1NM
    Mariners are advised to navigate with caution in the vicinity of the floating bird roosts.
