Breamlea Caravan Park playground upgrade

Published on 29 June 2025

Community feedback now open

Barwon Coast is excited to announce the planned upgrade of the Breamlea Caravan Park playground, part of our commitment to improving visitor experiences at our parks.

This project delivers on a key action in the Caravan and Camping Parks Master Plan, which was shaped by community engagement and reflects shared priorities for enhancing our parks and campgrounds.

The current playground is ageing and no longer meets modern safety or accessibility standards. The new playground will be relocated next to the amenity block and BBQ area and will feature:

  • Modern, compliant play equipment
  • Sand play area
  • New landscaping and planting
  • Seating and social spaces
  • Connections to the recently upgraded basketball space

Have your say

We are inviting feedback from campers and the wider community throughout July 2025.

  1. View the detailed plans here or in person at the Breamlea Caravan Park office during business hours
  2. Attend our drop-in information session for a site visit with Barwon Coast staff:
    • Date: Saturday 26 July
    • Time: 9-10am
    • Location: Breamlea Community Hall (located within the Caravan Park)
  3. Provide feedback via:

All feedback will be considered when finalising the playground design, alongside operational considerations such as budget, timing, and scope.

Vegetation works

As part of the upgrade, three trees (one large, two small) will be removed for safety reasons, following independent arborist advice. To support biodiversity, at least seven new trees will be planted in the area managed by Barwon Coast.

Timeline

  • July 2025: Community feedback period
  • October 2025: Works planned to commence
  • Before summer 2025–26: Completion of works

We look forward to working with the community on this important project.
