Hooded Plover Update

Published on 30 January 2023

1 HOODED PLOVER CHICK has hatched on 13th Beach between 40W-42W beach accesses..

Parents have one newly hatched chick in their care at the moment on our beach !

‘TEMPORARY BEACH CLOSURE’ has been set up by our Coastal Rangers for their protection and a safe area has been provided where parents and chick can feed and grow.

This zone is roped off and will be in place until the young bird can fly independently, mid March 2023.

PLEASE STAY OUT OF THE ‘TEMPORARY BEACH CLOSURE’, no walking through the area even at the water’s edge !

Barwon Coast appreciates your support.
