New Changing Places Facility – Enhancing Accessibility

Published on 11 February 2025

We are pleased to announce the construction of a new Changing Places facility, designed to provide people with disability and their caregivers a safe, dignified, and fully accessible space for restroom use and personal hygiene management.
This important addition promotes inclusivity and enhances the quality of life by enabling more people to participate in activities outside their homes.

Facility Features:

✅ Accessible toilet and shower
✅ Adult-sized changing bench
✅ Ceiling hoist
✅ Space for a caregiver to assist

Additional Works:

✔️ Two new disabled car parks
✔️ Accessible ramp connections
✔️ Minor landscaping, including a small retaining wall.

Access to Changing Places facilities is via an MLAK key, which is provided to eligible users, their carers and facility managers to ensure privacy and security.

Construction Details:

Start Date: Monday, 24 February 2025
Duration: Approximately four months

To ensure a smooth construction process, a small section of the car park will be closed for safety and material storage. However, there will be no disruption to the existing toilet block or public access along the pathways.

The Traffic Management Plan below shows the section of carpark which will be closed during construction works.
